Sweden’s approach to T2S

By implication, Riksbankens decision on 18 June, to seek membership with the Eurosystem’s wholesale payments platform T2, shed light also on what we can expect in relation to the securities side – the T2S. Sweden’s go-live would probably not happen until some year after 2030 but still, the direction towards joining seems determined – a development that could impact the market participant landscape notably, and see winners and losers.
